A Miami native, Natalie Martinez is a Cuban beauty whose mother inspired her to audition for Jennifer Lopez's J.Lo clothing line, and who ultimately beat out 5,000 girls to become the face of the clothing line. She then moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting. "Fashion House," a series for MyNetwork, marked her acting debut in 2007.
Martinez was the female lead in "Death Race," a 2008 feature film for Universal, appearing opposite Jason Statham, Ian McShane, Tyrese and Joan Allen. She most recently was a recurring character in the television comedy "Sons of Tucson," opposite Tyler Labine. She has also appeared in the independent films "Jack Stone," opposite Shane West, and "Magic City Memoirs."
The Character
Ariana Sanchez is beautiful, but with a discernable edge we wouldn't ever want to mess with. She's not afraid to roll up her sleeves with those who play dirty. Coming from a family of older brothers, she didn't grow up as a pushover. Sanchez transferred from Vice two years ago. Pulling back on her toughness and obvious good looks gives her a distinct advantage in certain situations that often helps solve cases.
Sanchez has had a hard life, though she'd probably never volunteer that information to you. Still, we can see the pains of the past in the empathetic connection she makes with victims and their families. Personally, we think that makes her a better cop.
