Showcase's Lost Girl

Lost Girl tells the story of Bo, a beautiful drifter who harbours a deadly secret; the ability to kill with a kiss. Growing up with human parents, Bo had no reason to believe she was anything other than the girl next door let alone a supernatural seductress who feeds on the sexual energy of mortals – until she drained her boyfriend to death in their first sexual encounter. After leaving an accidental victim in plain sight, she has hit the road alone and afraid. It is there that Bo is exposed to the world of the Fae. She discovers she is one of the Fae, creatures of legend and folklore living undetected amongst humans while feeding off them in secret, as they have for millennia. Once she discovers her true being as a succubus, Bo is relieved to have answers but she is also forced to choose allegiance between the Dark or Light clans of Fae. Instead, Bo goes rogue, refusing to belong to any world other than human. Bo decides to embark on a personal mission to unlock the secrets of her origin.

Originally commissioned in November 2008 as a pilot it recommissioned for a 13 episode series in April 2010 after Canwest exercised their option on rights to a series in August 2009.
