A plea from the people for a return to normalcy. That slice of time is captured in the documentary Miss Sarajevo In the early-mid 1990s the great Italian opera star Luciano Pavarotti commissioned Bono to write him a song, any song. Bono had written songs for Roy Orbison, Johnny Cash, Frank Sinatra, and Willie Nelson. But this time rather than offering them a song he had written he was being asked to write the song.
