the eleventh hour follows a group of journalists in the fast-paced and intense world of the TV newsroom. The team works hard to get the best stories on air, even if it means putting themselves in danger in a war zone or natural disaster site. They struggle with balancing the integrity of the news and keeping the ratings high against tabloid shows. Along the way, the quirks, strong temperaments, and varying styles nd ambitions breed intense competition and exen affection between colleagues.
Shawn Doyle (Big Love, 24, Desperate Housewives) stars as headstrong producer Dennis Langley during the first two seasons. Sonja Smits (The Outer Limits, Traders, Street Legal) portrays senior correspondent Megan Redner. Waneta Storms (La Femme Nikita, Naked Josh) portrays idealistic producer Isobel Lambert. Tanya Reid (Stargate SG-1, Da Vinci's Inquest) portrays executive producer Kennedy Marsh. Jeff Seymour (Being Erica , Show Me Yours, Jeff Ltd.) portrays correspondent Kamal Azizi. John Neville (The First Churchills, Emily of New Moon, The X-Files) portrays interviewer Deaton Hill in the first season. Peter MacNeill (Above and Beyond, PSI Factor: Chronicles of the Paranormal) portrays UTN news department director and creator and executive producer of "The Eleventh Hour" (the show of the same name within the show) Warren Donohue, who was also only in the first season. Ben Bass (rookie blue, Forever Knight, Would Be Kings) joined the cast for the third season as Henry Shelley. Other cast memners include Inga Cadranel (The Bridge, Republic Of Doyle, Rent-a-Goalie) as researcher Brooke Fairburn, Scott McCord (16 Blocks, Instant Star) as researcher James Joy, Matt Gordon (rookie blue, Rent-a-Goalie) as legal counsel Murray Dann, and Jonas Chernick (The Border, Degrassi: The Next Generation) as video editor Gavin Kowalchuk.
While the ratings were never that impressive the show was fortunate enough to be on back when CTV was not the dominant network it is today and it was willing to give shows a chance if it meant meeting their CanCon requirement. The third season was by far the lowest rated of the three; it had no regular network-wide time slot and would air on different days at the individual stations' discretion.the eleventh hour was shown in the USA on the cable channel Slueth under the alternate title Bury The Lead so as not to confuse it with the CBS show Eleventh Hour which aired in 2008-09. There is no DVD release of the series and i have not found it available as a bootleg.
the eleventh hour was created by Semi Chellas (rookie blue, Of Murder and Memory, Being Erica) and Ilana Frank (rookie blue, Of Murder and Memory) and comes from Aliance Atlantis. Anne Marie La Traverse is also Executive Producer. Brian Dennis is Producer and David Wellington is Creative Producer. The series is currently distributed by E1 Entertainment.
