FOX's The Good Guys

one of The Good Guys, sort of

Julius Grant is a reformed punk Dan used to bust rather regularly. Julius is the one who is seen breaking into the house in the first scene of the series. He is robbing houses to maintain the stock of his pawn shop - it kept his overhead costs low. Julius was originally a one-off bad guy punk that Jack and Dan busted but he was such a fan-favourite that he appeared in a few more episodes during the summer half of the first season. The second broadcast episode was the sixth produced and with almost a month between the premiere in May and the start of the regular season in June it was time enough to work Julius into the show for the second broadcast. After his encounter with a loan shark in the autumn premiere, "Vacation", Julius decides to go legitimate. He works in a bar, which Dan can subsequently be frequently found at. Julius loves the ladies and takes full advantage of his new line of work as the sexy bartender. Regretably he is often cop-blocked by Dan being in need of his services as a snitch. Julius even becomes Lt Ruiz' personal body guard when she has a peeping tom following her in "The Whistleblower". When there is a hit out on Julius thanks to his snitching on bad guys whose convictions have been overturned on a technicality in "Cop Killer" Lt Ruiz takes him into her home to protect him because he is a valued member of her team.
